Eugh...1st NST sucked.

So I had my first official non stress test. They took me to a quiet dark room with a nice overhead light so it was easy to finish my book that I brought. They gave me a pair of pink and blue straps that I have to bring in each time I have the test. I was hooked up and within minutes was able to hear LL's little heart beat. It was soooo cute!

Then, all of a sudden, I stopped hearing the rhythmic beat. Her rate went from 150's to 90. When the nurse came in to check, she took the strip of paper off the machine and went to talk to my OB. The nurse came back with a GIANT glass of water and told me to "chug it" as I was being scheduled for an urgent ultrasound to make sure Little Lamb was okay. (The water helps you have a full bladder and thus have a more readable u/s.) I had to go to the hospital portion and have an ultrasound.

The u/s tech could not tell me any information about baby but he did reinforce it was a girl. That made me smile. I had to wait then for about 30 minutes to get my results. The doctor came in and told me she probably rolled on her cord, as there was no cord around her neck and her movements were normal.

Whew. What a small scare. Especially for the 1st NST. And to think it's Friday and I have another one on Tuesday AND Friday of next week.

I know it's all worth it but spending 3 hours in the hospital when it was supposed to only be 20 minutes was a little long for me.

Now I'm going to lie down. This pregnancy consumes my entire life. But I keep saying "It's 100% worth it."
